The (Free) Sounds Of Summer

Summer is here and that means bikinis, speedos, tanning, grilling, late nights with friends and a wide variety of summer activties. Of course, for every great summer activity, the music should be equally as great. While there are plenty of new releases to choose from and plenty of concerts and festivals to attend, there is also a nice variety of free mixtapes and samplers to choose from.

Artists such as The Cool Kids and Best Coast as well as record labels Sub Pop, Merge and Matador all have new sounds for you to download or stream. Adult Swim created the Adult Swim Singles Program to issue out eight free singles from the likes of Killer Mike and Madvillian. Levi's has Levi's Pioneer Sessions and, remember, there is still a free copy of How to Destroy Angels online. Whatever you choose to do this summer, be sure to do it with some great music and if it is free, all the better.
