Tomorrow Never Knows Begins Tonight!

Tonight is the first night of 2011's Tomorrow Never Knows (concluding on January 16). This year features sets from Generationals, Bone & Bell, The Concretes, The Helio Sequence, Little Dragon and many more. One artist definitely looking to make a huge impact during the festival is Freddie Gibbs.

Gibbs is one of the most talked about emcees in recent times. With an appearance as one of XXL's 2010 Freshmen, the Str8 Killa mixtape and EP as well as a series of other mixtapes, Gangsta Gibbs is, in a way, a second coming of the 90's gangsta rap, g-funk sound. Instead of Compton being the setting for his tales of street life and hustling, it is Gary, Indiana, home to the Jacksons and years of social and economic depression. Without a doubt, Gibbs is one of more talented emcees getting press these days and songs like "Boxframe Cadillac" and "National Anthem," one only needs ears to understand. Catch Freddie Gibbs' Tomorrow Never Knows appearance at Metro on January 14.
